Montrose school helps teach students about fire prevention in honor of fire prevention week October 9-15. Elementary students learned about fire prevention from volunteer fire fighters Adam Graff and John Smith. While the 8th grade students had the opportunity to learn about fire safety and prevention from volunteer fire fighter Brian Smith and Heiman Fire Equipment employee Bob Erickson. Bob discussed different types of heat, the differences in classified fires A, B, C, D, and K, and different ways fire can spread. Bob and Brian also gave each student the opportunity to remove and use a fire extinguisher. A huge thank you to our local community members for taking the time today to spend it with our students and help spread fire awareness.
