MCM Athletics 1st Winter Practices


Montrose was well represented at this year's All State Chorus in Rapid City! Congrats to our Quartet on a wonderul concert!

Swine breeds have been a great interest to the 7th grade Agriculture class this past week! After conducting research on the different breeds, the students made models of their favorite breed.


Happy MOLE DAY!!! Chemistry is celebrating Mole Day a little late this year but none the less we are happy to celebrate this important chemistry number. Ask the chemistry kids about what a mole is!!



The MCM volleyball team will be playing against Dell Rapids in the 1st Round of the Region 3A Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, October 31 at 7:00pm at Dell Rapids.

Students got to visit Knife River and learn all about concrete. They even mixed and made their own concrete cylinders.


The Montrose All State Choir members represented us well at the 2023 BEC Honor Choir on Monday October 16th!


Anatomy got to test their skills on suturing and diagnosing patients! Thank you Sanford for providing the necessary materials.



This morning the Ag Processing class taught the lower elementary classes all about honey bees. They learned about the different types of bees, why honey bees are important, how bees make honey, and the different tools/equipment beekeepers use.





In our quest to figure out what we need to look for to find life in space, Chemistry tested the solubility of various solutions.






The Welding & Ag Processing classes enjoyed touring Central States Manufacturing in Hartford today.


SDHSAA Officials Appreciation Week. The Student Council also provided the Officials with a Thank You note and a Gift Card.


Congratulations to the Montrose Marching Band for placing 2nd in the Class B-Traditional Division at the Watchdog Marching Festival today in Beresford. There was some tough competition against Menno today, but every week we are improving! Look for the Montrose Marching Band at the Lake Area Festival of Bands in Chester on October 6th!

The HS & JH volleyball matches on Monday, October 2nd against Baltic will be held in Montrose.

On Friday, September 29th, the Montrose High School Band will be competing at the Watchdog Marching Festival in Beresford. Bands will compete as traditional or show. We are competing in Class B – Traditional. There are 28 total groups that will be marching on Friday ranging in age from middle school to college. (Augustana University will be featured at the end of the parade) It will be a great parade – featuring a lot of great bands from around our area!
If you would like to catch the Montrose Marching Band, our approximate time will be between 10:40-10:50 am. The parade steps off at 10 am, and we are the 11th group to go. We appreciate your support -- Go Montrose Music!


The Ag Processing class has been working with Montrose FFA's apiary. We collected the "supers" off the hive in order to harvest the honey our bees have worked hard to produce.
