McCook Central/Montrose Athletic Registration 2025–26

All students in grades 7–12 who plan to participate in MCM athletics this school year must complete the Athletic Registration form.

Please fill out a separate form for each participating student.

McCook Central/Montrose is seeking an individual to serve as a Guide Runner for a high school athlete with a visual impairment for the upcoming Cross Country season. This is a paid position (hourly wage plus mileage). The Guide Runner will be tethered to the athlete (using a string from the Guide Runner's hand to the athlete's hand) and will verbally assist the runner in navigating the course. Here are a few details to consider: Availability of approximately three days per week from mid-August through mid-October, aligning with the Cross Country season. Practices are held in Salem, beginning after school around 3:45 PM. Once meets begin, the Guide Runner would need to attend all meets and 1-2 practices per week. The National Honor Society were honored to serve our Veterans at the Legion's Memorial Day services this morning. We would like to thank our Veterans for all they have done.

Tomorrow's Region golf tournament has been postponed to Wednesday, May 21 and the Track Meet at Hanson has been cancelled.

The 8th grade Ag class researched dog breeds and created to scale models on their favorite dog breed. The class then participated in a dog show. The Great Dane won Best in Show!

Plant Science class donned their beekeeping suits one last time before summer break. Our hive is looking great and has been a fun experience for these students. We will continue to care for the bees throughout the summer and hope to harvest honey in the fall.
