Tomorrow, Feb. 24th, we will host the Region 5A Girls Basketball game between MCM and Parker/Marion at 7:00 PM in Salem. Since this is a postseason event, it is officially an SDHSAA contest and we are serving as the host site. Admission for Region postseason games will be $6 for all adults, including senior citizens, and $4 for students. Please note that MCM activity passes will not be accepted.

Region 2B Boys WR Tourney results - Congrats to Parker Randall at 126 (Champion), Tucker Peterson at 165 (Runner-up), Easton Meyer at 215 (3rd), Caleb Hoffman at 106 (4th), Channing Bartlett at 120 (4th), Levi Horstman at 150 (4th), and Jacob Johnson at 285 (4th) - all qualifying for the State Wrestling Tournament next weekend in Sioux Falls on Feb 26–28.
Also competing today for MCM: Wyatt Uberty at 138 (6th) and Richard Sandine at 132.

The MCM Girls Basketball team will be taking on Parker/Marion in the 1st Round of the 5A Region Tournament on Tuesday, February 24. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00pm in Salem. Plant Science class toured Natural Beauty greenhouses near Ellis this week. They got to see large scale plant production and new technologies in the industry.
Congrats to Alexis Bryant at 115 for winning the Region 2 title and to Ellie Stofferahn at 140 for finishing as runner-up, both qualifying for the State Girls Wrestling Tournament next weekend in Sioux Falls on Feb 26–28.

Our Minecraft Bed Wars team finished State Runner-Up.
On Friday, the team picked up wins over Dakota Valley, Flandreau, and Marty to advance out of pool play.
They followed that up with a strong semifinal win against Dupree to punch their ticket to the State Championship match.
In the finals, they battled Centerville in a hard-fought match. Congrats on an outstanding season!

Our Minecraft Bed Wars team has advanced to the State Championship match today! We’re expecting the championship to begin around 11:30am, but that start time will depend on how long the matches ahead of them run. Plan to tune in a little early just in case.

February is Black History Month. To celebrate Black History Month, the middle schoolers read, researched and studied an African American that was influential to American history. On Wednesday, the middle schoolers presented their learning.
To kick off the celebration, Mari Chlebeck-VanLeur gave a presentation on Harriet Tubman. She sang a couple of songs and gave a biography of Harriet's life.

Members of the Government class had the opportunity to visit the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre today. Students met with District 19 Representative Peterson, Representative Bahmuller, and Senator Schoenfish, toured the Capitol, and were introduced to the House of Representatives. The group also enjoyed lunch at Pizza Ranch courtesy of American Legion Ruste-Waul Post 154.

Advanced Animal Science class took a tour of the local vet clinic to learn more about a day in the life of a veterinarian. The students got to look in a microscope at blood samples, examine x-rays, and learn about all the equipment and tools. Thank you Montrose Vet Clinic!
